Hazelwood School and Nursery

Hazelwood School and Nursery is our second location, where we offer lessons on Sundays.

We provide swimming lessons for Reception age and older, with both group and one-to-one (121) sessions available.

Group lessons: Limited to a maximum of 6 students per instructor, for levels 1-4, and a maximum of 8 students for levels 5+.
Parking: Free parking is available on the school grounds.
Footwear: Please wear blue shoes or poolside footwear when entering the pool area.

The pool area features separate male and female changing rooms. For privacy reasons, children aged 8 and older are not allowed in the opposite gender's changing room. Separate restrooms are shared showers available for rinsing, but no full shower facilities.

Level 1

4 years + (Reception years+)

Octopus 1 - 2

Beginner lessons for children to start the Learn to Swim pathway and develop their confidence, knowledge and skills.

Level 4

4 years + (Reception years+)

Goldfish 3

Swimmers will be improving on all 4 strokes, skills and distance.

On completion swimmers will be able to swim 15 metres without any aids.

Level 7+

4 years + (Reception years+)

Shark 1 - 3

Swimmers will learn the basic water rescue and survival techniques as well as starts and turns for each of the strokes.

On completion of the series learners will be able to swim 100 metres.

Level 2

4 years + (Reception years+)

Octopus 3

Children that can paddle with face in the water, and paddle on back.

On completion the swimmers will be able to swim 5 metres without any aids.

Level 5

4 years + (Reception years+)

Angelfish 1 - 2

Swimmers will be learning basic survival techniques and fundamentals for starts and turns.

On completion swimmers will be able to swim 20 metres without any aids.

121 & 221 Lessons

4 years + (Reception years+)

121 or 221 lessons of any ability from 4 years +

Following the STA awards.

Level 3

4 years + (Reception years+)

Goldfish 1 - 2

Swimmers will be learning different skills, alongside improving all 4 strokes.

On completion the swimmers will be able to swim 10 metres without any aids.

Level 6

4 years + (Reception years+)

Angelfish 3

Swimmers will be able to perform butterfly stroke as well as mastering sculling techniques and entries to the water.

On completion swimmers will be able to swim 25 metres without aids.
